Restrictions — closure days and stop-sale
Updated on 2026-04-26
If you want to make a room temporarily not bookable — for example because of renovations, a holiday or just to keep a weekend for yourself — you set that up in Daily → Restrictions.
What is this?
A restriction is a block on one or more rooms between two dates. During that period:
- The room does not appear in the booking widget on your website
- Availability is set to 0 for Channex (Booking.com / Airbnb / Expedia)
- The Room overview shows a red marked cell with the reason

Adding a restriction
- Go to Daily → Restrictions in the sidebar
- Click New restriction
- Fill in:
- Room(s) — one, several or "all rooms"
- From date / To date — both bounds inclusive
- Reason (optional) — appears in the overview and in the logs (e.g. "Bathroom renovation", "Owner holiday")
- Type — closed (fully closed) or stop-sale (no new bookings, existing bookings stay in place)
- Save → the block is immediately passed on to Channex (visible on the OTAs within 1 minute).
Frequently asked questions
Do I lose existing bookings that fall in this period? No. Existing bookings simply remain, regardless of the restriction. Restrictions only apply to new bookings.
Can I set up a recurring closure day (e.g. closed every Monday)? Yes — create a recurring restriction with Repeat weekly ticked and select the appropriate weekday(s).
What happens when I delete a restriction? Availability immediately returns to normal. Channex receives a sync pulse and the OTAs show the room as bookable again (can take up to 5 minutes).
