Statbel export — the monthly tourism statistics (Belgium)
Updated on 2026-09-30
Accommodation providers in Belgium have to report their overnight stays to Statbel (the FPS Economy; for Flanders via Toerisme Vlaanderen) every month. BedFlow creates that file for you, per property, in the required format.
Automatically, every month
- On the 3rd of every month at 08:00, BedFlow creates the export for the previous month.
- A separate file per property: if you manage two properties, you get two files, each with the name of the right property.
- The file (XLSX) contains all invoiced stays that departed in that month, one row per stay in the Toerisme Vlaanderen format: the guest's country, purpose of the stay, departure date, number of nights, number of people and number of occupied units.
- It is sent to your property's Telegram channel. You connect that under Settings → Integrations. If your property does not have its own channel yet, the file goes to the BedFlow administrator, who will pass it on to you.
- Only active properties in Belgium get an export. Portuguese properties report to the INE via a different route.
All you then have to do is upload the file to the Statbel portal.
Requesting an export yourself
Do you need an export for a previous month, or do you want a month to be generated again after a correction?
- Go to Management → Insights → Statistics and select the right property at the top of the sidebar.
- Click Statbel export at the top right.
- Choose the month and the year; the previous month is selected by default.
- Confirm. You get a notification that the file has been sent, stating whether it went to your own channel or to the administrator.
Frequently asked questions
A stay is missing from the export. The export only counts stays that departed in that month, were not cancelled and have a final invoice (a proforma or quote does not count). A guest who arrives on 31 March and leaves on 2 April appears in the April export. Invoice the stay and then request the month again via Statbel export.
Are the countries wrong? BedFlow takes the country of the booking's customer (the debtor). If no country is filled in there, the guest counts as Belgian. So always fill in the country on the customer record; for bookings via Booking.com and other channels, it comes in automatically. See Customers.
