ISTAT statistics (Italy)

Every tourist accommodation in Italy reports its guests for the official ISTAT statistics (movimento clienti, formerly form C59). You do not do this with ISTAT itself but with your region. Most regions use Ross1000 for it, and they want a report every day: including a day without arrivals and a day when you are closed. The ISTAT (Ross1000) integration sends that report automatically, based on your occupancy and the guest registration.

The tile is in the Italia group and only appears for a property in Italy.

Which regions use Ross1000

BedFlow sends directly through the Ross1000 web service for: Piemonte, Toscana (Florence, Pistoia and Prato only), Abruzzo, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Lombardia, Calabria, Sardegna, Liguria, Basilicata, Lazio and Molise. That is the list from the official Ross1000 specification (version 3 of 18/03/2026).

If your region runs Ross1000 at another address, choose Other Ross1000 installation and enter the web service address (it ends in /ws/checkinV2?wsdl).

Other regions use their own system, for example SPOT in Puglia, Turist@t in Sicily or RiceStat / Motourist in the rest of Tuscany. BedFlow has no connection for those yet. Choose Other region (file only): you can download the file for a period (see below), but it is in the Ross1000 format. Whether your portal accepts it depends on your region. Ask support if you need a connection with your region.

What you need beforehand

  • Your property code (codice struttura). You find it in your region's portal.
  • A username and password for the web service. These are separate from your own login: even if you open the portal with SPID or CIE, the web service needs its own credentials. You request them from the Ufficio Turismo of your region or province.
  • Guest registration switched on, with the Italian fields. See Guest registration and Alloggiati Web.

Setting it up in BedFlow

  1. Open the ISTAT (Ross1000) tile with Configure.
  2. Choose your region and enter the property code.
  3. Enter the username and password of the web service. The password is stored encrypted and never shown on screen again; an empty field when saving keeps the stored password.
  4. Click Test connection. BedFlow sends an empty report (without a day) and checks whether the region accepts your credentials.
  5. Check the capacity. If you leave it empty, BedFlow uses your active rooms and their maximum occupancy. Fill it in if the region knows a different number of rooms or beds.
  6. Under Report from, choose the first day BedFlow should report. You handled the days before that yourself in the portal.
  7. Optionally choose a default type of tourism and means of transport. BedFlow does not ask your guests about these; "Non specificato" is a valid value.
  8. Switch on Send the statistics automatically every day and click Save.

What is sent every day

Every night BedFlow sends the previous day to your region:

  • The property: open or closed, the number of rooms occupied that night, and the rooms and beds that were for sale. A room you blocked in the room overview does not count as available that day. If every room is blocked and nobody is staying, BedFlow reports the day as closed. Sample bookings never count.
  • Arrivals: for each guest the sex, date of birth, country of birth (and municipality in Italy), nationality, place of residence, the type of guest (alone, head of family or group leader, family member or group member) and the booking channel (direct via your website, or via an OTA). Names and document numbers are not sent: the statistics do not need them.
  • Departures: which guests left that day.

A day without any movement is sent too: it then only contains the property data. That way the region knows which days you were open.

Your guests' place of residence

The statistics count where your guests live, not their nationality. When the ISTAT connection is on, the guest registration also asks the first traveller for their country of residence, and anyone living in Italy chooses their municipality from the list. Fellow travellers get the same place of residence. If you fill in the registration yourself from the booking, the same fields are there.

Corrections and missed days

  • If you change a registration after it was sent, or a booking is cancelled late, BedFlow sends that day again: that is how Ross1000 corrects. A guest who is no longer there is removed from the statistics.
  • If a day could not be sent (no connection, wrong password), BedFlow tries again the next night. Days that were never reported are caught up.
  • If something is missing for a guest (the place of residence, for example), the day is sent without that guest, and the reason appears with the submission on the tile. Once you complete it, the day is sent again.

What is monitored

The tile shows your region, the last accepted day and a list of the latest submissions with their result. If a day is still not accepted after the second night, you get a single notification via Telegram or the app, and the tile turns red. Each region sets its own deadline; BedFlow follows the strictest one. If the region rejects your username or password, that is shown in red on the tile and you are notified straight away.

Send now starts the run immediately, without waiting for the night.

Downloading the file

At the bottom of the tile you choose a period and click Download XML. You get the file in the Ross1000 format, one block per day, including the days without guests. That is useful:

  • if your region has no web service and you upload the file yourself in the portal;
  • to upload a month again, or to check what was reported.
